Our first family trip to Japan in March 2014. We took the budget airline, Air Asia (we did regret later though) from Singapore to Haneda and from Osaka to Singapore. I thought we got the lowest fare but I learned later; JAL, Ana and SQ offered almost the same fare if booked earlier. It was over seven (7) hours flight, I do not suggest to opt for budget airline. More so, we had a stop over at KL low cost terminal.
Nevertheless, we had a blast in Japan. We arrived in Haneda. In Tokyo, we had stayed at the Hotel Century Southern Tower situated at Odakyu building and 3 minutes walk to the Southern Terrace Exit of Shinjuku Station. Takashima Times Square is opposite the hotel.
From Tokyo we went to the Fuji area, Tokyo DisneySea and Hakone. On our last day in Tokyo, we went to Yoyogi park and Kiddy Land.
We took the Nozomi Shinkansen (fastest bullet train in Japan) from Tokyo to Osaka.
We had stayed at the Fraser Residence Apartment which is opposite the Namba station. Namba station serves direct access to Kansai Airport.
From Osaka, we went to Kyoto, visited some of the popular places: Arashiyama, Kinkakuji and Nijo Castle.
We went to Universal Studio Japan on our last day, but unable to go in. The park was fully packed and all express pass were sold out. Luckily, Harry Potter was not yet featured at that time, We now have a reason to go back.
I posted series of blogs in regard to our Trip to Japan in 2014. You could start at FujiKawaguchiko post.
