Places Visited in Germany

The most visited at the East Sid gallery is the Fraternal Kiss painted by Dmitri Vrubel.  It depicts Leonid Brezhnev and Erich Honecker kissing.  The Russian words at the top says "God! help me stay alive"; and the one at the bottom "Among this deadly love."





Nuremberg is one of the cities of the German federal state of Bavaria, the second to the largest after Munich, the capital.

Brandenburg Tor or the Brandenburg Gate is a  famous neoclassical monument built in the 18th century where significant number of historical events held from the time it was built (between 1788~1791), through the World Wars period  and during the division of Berlin.





After riding to the top of Mount Untersberg by the spacious cable cars, we drove to Berchtesgaden, Germany.

Marienplatz (Mary's Square) is located in the center of the inner city of Munich and has been the main square of the city since 1158.

Most of the buildings in the Altstadt (Old Town),  Frankfurt were just restored and was fully opened for visitors in 2019.

We thought we only had to visit the Cologne Cathedral.  We knew Christmas Markets in Germany are opened only till Christmas Eve.  We were in Cologne on 28 December.  There were two Christmas Markets still opened and one was just marvelous!

For the night goers who love beer and music, Düsseldorf is known to be the city with the longest bar in the world.  There are more than 300 bars and discos next to each other at the Old town (Altstadt).
