Philippines: Cebu and Bohol 1st day/ Family Travelogue 17 November 2012

Our trip to the Visayas Islands in the Philippines in 2012, we departed Singapore early in the evening on 17 November,  flew with Cebu Pacific Air.  Primary schools end of year holiday just started.  Our first stop was in Cebu via NAIA in Manila.

Changi Airport, Singapore
The eldest was not able to join us, she was still in her secondary then and had dancing practice for the inter school shows in December of that year.

During that time, when we had a transit in Manila, we still had to collect our luggages at the baggage conveyor belt.  I thought it would automatically transferred for the passengers to the plane that took us to Cebu.  Fortunately,  I asked the officials and we quickly grabbed our stuff.  We checked in again in Manila.

Before our flight to Cebu, we had arranged for a car rental.  The service was really good, the car was waiting for us at the airport.  From there, we signed the contract and we paid the rental fee plus deposit.  We arrived Cebu very early, around 9am,  It was too early for hotel check in, we went around Cebu City first.  We also bought drinks and some groceries at the local supermarket.

Cebu is famous of lechon (Roasted Pig).  I only ate though the crispy skin.

This year's trip to the Visayas Island in the Philippines consists of several hotel transfers.  We wanted to experience the accommodations of the few popular hotels in Cebu.  We had stayed for 2 days and one night at Shangri-la Mactan and transferred to the Plantation bay the following day.

We have no excuse but to admit we were so healthy during that time :).  This is our youngest,  she was 10 years old then, just finished Primary 4.

Our room had a bit view of the hotel's pool with 8ft depth.  We took a dip at night, we had no photos though, we were afraid to loose the camera.  The pool was small though, but we had a great time.

After the swim, we we had checked though which of the 6 restaurants we could have dinner, we decided for a room service instead.  We ordered one of the famous filipino dish, Crispy Pata (Pork Knuckle) and a Prawn dish for the youngest.  The food was really mouthwatering and savoury, all plates were left empty.

We had booked the Main Wing Superior Garden View Room (Twin) with a room rate then at Php13,000 per night (at present, Php16,000.00).  The rate included a dining credit of Php2,500.00 for our entire stay, complimentary buffet breakfast at tides and internet access.  Not bad, right?

Father and daughter had a good night sleep after a very long day.  Check out the 2nd day of this trip. We had spent half of the following day enjoying the amenities of Shangri-la Mactan and the other half at Plantaton bay.
