Universal Studios Singapore Visit 28 March 2010

Universal Studios Singapore is the 2nd to operate in Asia and first in the Southeast Asia.  It is located within Resort World Sentosa in Sentosa Island, Singapore.  Soft Opening was on 18 March 2010.

We purchased annual passes for the family, apparently USS was our playground for a year.  As one of the pioneer, we were given 3 months extension, thus we got to enjoy the annual pass till 28 June 2011.  Not only the extension, we had received free tickets to watch Voyage de la Vie shown at the resort’s 1,600-seat purpose-built Festive Grand showroom,

To get there:  From Vivo City,  you could go up to 3rd level and take the Sentosa Express mono rail. At present, it costs $4 for an unlimited ride  (just don't exit to Vivo City).  The Sentosa mono rail has 4 stops:  Vivo City, Waterfront, Imbiah and Beach Station.  You could alight at  the Waterfront station to visit Universal Studios Singapore, Adventure Cove, SEA Aquarium, Casino and the RWS hotels, shops and restaurants.

Universal Studio Singapore consists of 7 zones:

1.  Hollywood
2. New York City
3. Sci Fi City
4. Ancient Egypt
5. Lost World
6. Far Far & Away
7. Madagascar- not yet opened on this visit.

Universal Studios Singapore  Far Far & Away Zone

Inside the castle, a short film is shown, Shrek 4D Adventure.  You may find the queue long but it moves fast, the theatre is large enough to accommodate hundreds of audiences.

Battle Galactica is located at the Universal Studios Singapore Sci Fi Zone.  On our very first visit on 28 March 2010, it was still non operational.

This place is still in the Zone Far Far & Away.

We were entering Universal Studio Singapore - Lost World Zone

One day was not enough to take all the rides offered by each zone.  My next blog for the succeeding visits would show the other attractions.

The popular in this zone is the Rapids Adventure and the mini live action show, Water World

We were on queue for Canopy Flyer ride.  The ride is in the Lost World zone.

Exiting the Lost World, we were heading to Universal Studios Singapore Ancient Egypt zone.
4 statues  holding up the collapsed entry archway marks the boundary of the zone.

A bit creepy zone.  The popular ride in this zone is the Revenge of the Mummy.  A very fast indoor roller coaster with the intention to scare the riders, as mummy suddenly appear with  flames. The coaster goes backwards after a short fright with the scarabs encounter  As the coaster moves up and down in a total darkness, you just have to use your senses to prepare for the sudden drop  as many gets crazy with the feel in their stomach.

We had to call it a day.  We were very tired of walking and it was very very warm.  See you again, USS!
