Time flies it's weekend again. Apparently, we just worked for three days this week. Monday and Tuesday was CNY holiday. I thought of starting the weekend joining the many in the celebration of the 2016 Annual River Hongbao at the Marina Bay Floating Platform. From work, I and my husband went down the Floating Platform which is few minutes on foot from my work place. My husband came all the way from the East Coast which took him about 40 minutes to the CBD by public transport.
In Singapore, most of the places are accessible by public transport. Private vehicle is not that necessary in this country.
We walked through Marina Bay link up to the Promontory. From Promontory we followed the Olympic walk path to the Marina Bay Shopping Mall. The floating platform could be reached from the mall by crossing the Helix Bridge.
Not only the colourful lanterns and decors beautify the event, likewise, the awesome display of fireworks every night at 9pm (except on CNY countdown), during the nine day festival which started on 06 Feb and to conclude on 14Feb. A few with cameras find a place the best to cover and capture the fireworks before 9pm.

The Promontory could be a good place for office workers to spend lunch time with such a great view. However, Singapore is a tropical country and have only two seasons: summer and monsoon.
Heading right is the olympic walk to the Marina Bay Shopping Mall. To the left leads you to the Merlion Park and Singapore River.

Suddenly it drizzled, we went inside the shopping mall. Let me take you at the upper floors of the mall. I have a separate post for The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sand, please click the link.
I have requested my hubby to take photo of the Balenciaga shop. This was where I bought my Classic City Bag (giant silver hardware) two years ago, January 2014.
I really love this bag. It gets better as it gets old and looks stressed.

Helix Bridge is a pedestrian bridge linking the Marina Centre with Marina South, Marina Bay area, Singapore.

Before 9pm, many went up to the 30,000 capacity floating stadium to find a better place to capture and cover the awesome display of fireworks.
