The much awaited Hello Kitty Cafe in Singapore finally opened on Thursday, 12 May 2016 at the public area of Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3's arrival hall. As expected, huge queue on its first 24 hours of opening. It was launched at 11:30 am though, queue had started as early as 7am, especially for for the 500 limited plush toys. Said plush toys were totally sold out by 2:15pm on the first day of opening.
We were at work when the cafe had its first opening. Apparently, I was not able to get the plush toy. I am one of the mommies or grandmommies who fancied this very cute cat. Ooops, not a cat but a British school girl. After work, I met my husband at Tanah Merah station and together we headed to the Changi Aiport. The queue was long but shorter compare to what was shown on the news when it was opened that morning. Two lanes were filled up by waiting Hello Kitty fans and a few on the 3rd lane. My husband was telling me to just come back the next time, I insisted though to stay, we were already there. We actually ended up waiting for almost three hours. We started to line up at half past seven and we were able to go in before half past ten. Majority visiting the themed cafe were adults.
Hello Kitty Orchid Garden Cafe name was inspired by the Singapore's National flower, orchid. Lots of flowers inside this 84-seat themed cafe with Hello Kitty designed furniture. It is more of a garden than Hello kitty. It goes with Singapore known for its green and modern landscape. It is the world's first Hello Kitty cafe opened 24/7 and located at the world's best and most awarded airport.
I am one of the many fancy the iconic character of Sanrio. We do not care if we queue just to have the limited edition plush toy of this cutie kitty especially when it is featured at Mcdonald's. I am actually running out of space for my plush toys. I have a big one I got from Tokyo.

The queue was down to one lane at around 10pm just before we went in. But when we were inside, there were two or more lanes lining up as visitors from other countries had just arrived.
Finally, we were inside. The place was more of a garden, lots of flowers.
