Nearing retirement, I was thinking of something worth to be busy at. I love travelling and cooking. I thought of putting into writing to document my most passion. I am into sports too such as swimming, lawn tennis and cycling. My activities are all spent with my family. I travel with my family, I cook for my family, I cycle, swim and play tennis with my family. The family that spends quality time together stays together.
I thought of starting to write now about our travels while still vivid and I could still feel my presence in the places we have visited. Apparently, I am so happy and excited to relive and share our previous and recent wander escapades. I intend not to brag but to make my blog to be kind of a guide tool and be of help and of use to viewers/families who we share the same passion of exploring the beauty and the wonders of the world.
I would be sharing also my cooking. But it would be much later. I am currently preparing my first video to post and its documentary.
For my first travel post, I would be covering Salzburg, Austria; including the movie locations of the movie, Sound of Music. I would show the places we have visited that were used to film the said movie. I would also talk about the travel preparations, hotels/villas we have stayed, local transport, transfer from another country, visited attractions... Hopefully it would be completed by November.
The timeless movie, Sound of Music was my inspiration for these travels. The movie sounds dinosaur to many present youth though- first shown in the late 60's, it is still the favourite subject of the many Music classes and still visible in the Broadway. I was so amazed with the picturesque beauty of the ALPS that could relieve a day stress, viewing from the back mansion setting of the Von Trapp's family home in the movie..

Comes computer age, I have started befriending Mr. Google to tell me all about Salzburg and thought of the first place I would visit should I go to Europe. I have accepted though, with the costs of the Europe trip, such would remain a dream. Fortunately, in 2012, Europe trip is no longer impossible. And I could never see myself fulfilling my dreams other than with my family.
Below were the list of the countries we have visited the past five (5) years and I would be sharing one after another. I do hope I could be of help in the preparation of your future travels. Most of our travels were DIY or free and easy.
