Second day in Italy, second day in Rome. Italy was the second country we visited on our 2015 Europe tour. We were in Greece: two days in
Athens and two days in
Santorini. We arrived Athens on 03 June 2015.
The following day, we were to join a group morning tour to Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and inside the St Peter's Basilica. The meeting place was at Taverna Antiche Mura which was at Via Lione IV. The meeting time was 7:20am. To avoid getting late, we checked out how to get to that place. As per google map, we were to walk on the long street of Via Cola Di Rienzo.
Via Cola di Rienzo is a long street stretching from the Ancient City to Vatican over the River Tiber.
From our apartment at Ripetta 25, we passed by Piazza del Popolo, a view of the River Tiber to the stretch of the Via Cola di Rienzo. A turn to Via Ottaviano before we reached the meeting place for our tour the next day.
Apparently, we were already at the Vatican City. We wanted to attend the mass inside the St Peter Basilica, the que though to go inside was so long. It was Sunday, we just waited outside to 12noon for the Pope to lead the Angelus.
