Our second day in Perth started with buffet breakfast at the hotel. We then prepared for our today's adventure, to the many amazing beaches on Rottnest Island.
We booked our tour a month before online through Adams Pinnacle tour. Check out below our tour booking. The fees include round trip fast ferry to Rottnest Island and Grand Island tour.
Grand Island Tour coverage:

We were supposed to be picked up at 8:15am from the hotel. For some reasons, it was 8:20am the bus was not yet there. We were worried the ferry would leave us, we took a cab to Barrack St Jetty.
We queued for the boarding pass and for the Grand Island tour ticket. Then those picked up by the bus had arrived. Had they'd been to our hotel, we just hoped the valet informed the bus driver we already took a cab.
The ferry was almost packed when we boarded. We left Barrack St Jetty in Perth around 8:45am. The journey started down the scenic Swan River with live commentary about the sights. We hardly hear and understand the commentary though, we enjoyed the picturesque views as we cruised to Fremantle.
We stopped at Fremantle B shed to transfer to another boat, then picked up additional passengers.
There was another stop at Northport Fremantle for more passengers to board. More so, the bikes that were booked by the passenger were loaded onto the boat.
We then proceeded to the sea (Indian ocean) towards Rottnest island where the ride was quite rough. I suggest to bring meds for those who have motion sickness.
Rottnest Island or Rotto as locals like to call it is located 18 kilometers from the city of Perth. The island is actually near yet took 2 hours to get there by ferry. Travel from Fremantle to Rotto was only half an hour. On our way back, we opted to alight at Fremantle, price same though, and we took train from Fremantle back to the city of Perth. The Grand Island tour finished at 3;30pm. Last trip to Barrack St Jetty was 3:45pm. We wanted to explore further the island, by ourselves, we had arranged for our return at 6pm to Fremantle B shed. Last trip to Fremantle was 7pm. It was approaching summer during our visit. Ferry's last trips could be earlier in other months.
Check out the photos and video we had taken as we travel from the city of Perth, along the marvelous Swan River, to the fierce Indian ocean towards Rottnest Island.
