Re visited Hong Kong Disneyland before its six-year expansion to kick off in 2018. Mommy and the youngest met maternal family who flew from the Philippines: youngest' grandma, cousins and uncle who lives in California. This was our fourth visit and stay at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. We had stayed again at the Disney Hollywood Hotel for 3 nights and visited the park for two days. We'll tell more of the three hotels at HK Disneyland Resort and the details of the package we had booked at the other blog post.
Hong Kong Disneyland Park is one of the two large theme parks in Hong Kong. The Park is located inside the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort situated on reclaimed land in Lantau Island. It is owned and managed by Hong Kong International Theme Parks. To avoid cultural trouble, chinese customs and traditions were considered when designing and building the resort. Languages spoken by the disney cast members are: English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
To date, the park consists of seven themed areas: Main Street USA, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point, Toy Story Land.
On our visit,: Day parade, "Flights of the Fantasy parade" started at 3pm from the Storybook theatre at Fantasyland to Main Street U.S.A.; Nighttime Spectacular, "Disney Paint the Night" started at 7pm and the "Disney in the Stars" Fireworks started at 8pm. The said fireworks will be suspended after 01 January 2018 due to the park's 6 year expansion. Every year from 2018 additional themed area will be added. Moana would be the 8th themed area before the end of 2018.
We were able to watch the famous Festival of the Lion King,, Mickey and the Wondrous Book which are shown multiple times in a day.
It is always a magical day at the happiest place on earth.

Disneyland Emporium is a retail store located at Main Street USA. It sells all the disney merchandise found n all of the themed areas in the park.

Actually, the first thing we did when we got in, we went straight to the iron man experience and collect fast passes. Latter allowed us an hour after for the new attraction, skipped the long queue. Before we go on further with our Iron Man experience, we continue to Main Street U.S.A. themed area.

Food fare at Hong Kong Disneyland, Main Street Market sells turkey legs, crispy Mickey waffles, frozen lollipops and more. For our Islamic friends, as per the resort's website, all meat items served at the Main Street Market are certified by the Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong.

Our first fastpass timing was between 11:30~12:30nn. And we could only collect second fast pass from 11;20am and not earlier. Since the Iron Man Experience was a new attraction and the line was not that long, we decided to take our first ride of the iron man. The queue was fast moving, we were having difficulty to take photo with the displays inside the queue to the boarding area.

After the ride, we went around Tomorrowland. At 11:20, we went to the fastpass machine of the Hyperspace Mountain. The timing was between 12:20nn~1:10pm. We then went back to the Iron Man Experience for our second ride with our first fastpass. Our mom, in her early 70s, was able to take this ride.

We went back to the Center Street... to the Snow White grotto while waiting for the 12:20 Hyperspace Mountain ride.
We took this ride twice. First, we used the fastpass collected from the park and second, we used one of the three fastpass included in the hotel package. The said fast pass could be used not only for the three attractions we have mentioned earlier but to any of the popular attractions at HK Disneyland.

ADVENTURELAND
It was past 1pm and we had just taken 2 rides. Seems slow. Everyone was hungry. We went to the Adventureland. We thought we could have our lunch there.
On the right is way to the Jungle River Cruise. On the left, the way to Rafts to Tarzan treehouse and the Theatre in the Wild where the current featured show is " The Festival of the Lion King". We took first the Jungle River Cruise ride.
After the cruise, we then headed to the Theatre in the Wild to watch the 2pm show of "the Festival of the Lion king". On our way, we stopped by at the picture spot where you could have a good view of the Tarzan Treehouse and the passing boat cruising around the island.
While we were waiting for the gate to open for the Lion King show, we grabbed grilled corn cobs at the food truck (around HK$38). We wanted to take the raft to the treehouse though, we wanted to be among the first to go in the theatre. We climbed the treehouse the next day.

Festival of the Lion King is a musical show re-telling of the story of Simba, Nala and Scar shown at the Theatre in the Wild, Adventureland themed area. The show in Hong Kong has been simplified though, still features the important characters and medley of songs from the movie. Simba struggles to be the rightful King as they sing the Hakuna Makata and other favorite songs.
Rafts to Tarzan Treehouse
Tarzan's Treehouse is one of the attractions at Hong Kong Disneyland, Adventureland themed area. Need to take the log raft to get there. The ferry starts near the theatre in the wild where the Festival of the Lion King is shown. Tarzan's Treehouse is a walk-through tour to Tarzan's jungle house.
The treehouse has been an attraction at Adventureland since the opening of the Hong Kong Disneyland in September 2005.

GRIZZLY GULCH
It was almost 3pm and we have not had our lunch yet. From the Adventureland, down to the left is the passage to another themed area, Grizzly Gulch. The restaurant at this themed area was closed. We took the roller coaster instead, Big Grizzly Mountain.
We'll end up the first of two parts of the Hong Kong Disneyland 2017. Next blog features more photos taken at Grizzly Gulch, Fantasyland, Mystique Manor, Toy Story, Parades, Fireworks and Disneyland at night.
